From 1 July 2016 the maximum rate of paid parental leave for eligible employees and self-employed parents increased.
Employees’ weekly parental leave payments will now equal the greater of:
- ordinary weekly pay, or
- average weekly income
up to the maximum weekly amount of $527.72 gross (gross means before any deductions eg income tax) per week. Previously the maximum payment was $516.85 per week.
