John has almost 30 years’ experience as an Employment Relations specialist and Human Resources professional, both in New Zealand and overseas.
He has worked in advisory, consulting and management roles across a wide range of industries – large and small, multi-national and local.
Over the years, John has worked with many line supervisors, senior managers and business owners, helping them to deal with their employment concerns and people-related issues more effectively. John has been a Chartered Member of the Human Resources Institute of New Zealand (CMHRNZ) for the past 15 years and his hands-on experience is complimented by a solid foundation of UK-based academic study, including a Master’s Degree in Human Resources Management. John is also a PSPLA-registered private investigator and has conducted numerous workplace disciplinary investigations.
Over the past decade, John has worked extensively with many small business owners, recognising their need to have the confidence that they are not only doing the right thing when it comes to managing their staff, but that they are doing it the right way too. Although not a lawyer by profession, John is very well versed in NZ Employment Law and keeps himself up to date with developing case law, thus enabling him to give advice that is at the same time legally compliant yet pragmatic in its approach.
